Helping You Achieve Wellness

MelrosePsych is a team of professionals who offer psychotherapy and medication management services. We specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Jay Baltz provides affordable out of network pricing for medication management and brief psychotherapy. We work closely with therapists specializing in trauma, EMDR, relationship issues, and transitioning issues. In addition the two therapists at the office, we can provide excellent referrals to outside providers using modalities such as hypnotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and the couples-focused Gottman Method.

We believe that you, too, can achieve wellness. defines wellness as:

  1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.
  2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.

The MelrosePsych Difference

Wellness requires deliberate effort, and we providers emphasize prevention and education over putting a band-aid on your distress. What this means for you is that seeing a therapist or nurse practitioner does not have to be forever. Therefore, if you are not doing well, we will treat you and simultaneously teach you the tools to treat yourself. Wellness requires active management of the balance between body, mind, and spirit, and we can show you how to achieve and maintain this balance.

MelrosePsych emphasizes the importance of:

  • Healthy diet
  • Regular exercise
  • Meditation/Mindfulness
  • Coping skills
  • Teaching and psychoeducation at every visit

Furthermore, MelrosePsych believes alternative modalities and treatments can play a role in your treatment, and can provide excellent referrals for acupuncture, massage, Tai Chi, Qigong, and others.
